Feather ("the app") is made by Athledev Labs ("we", "us"), based in the United States. By downloading or using the app, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
License
Feather is licensed, not sold. The app is free to download and use on your Mac. A managed Pro tier is on the roadmap for later; if and when it launches, its own pricing and terms will apply to it, and nothing here commits you to a paid plan.
Your content
You own your decks, cards, and notes. The app stores them locally on your Mac.
We do not access, host, or sync your content. Importing an Anki
.apkg is read-only, so your original Anki collection is never changed.
Bring-your-own-key cloud AI
Feather's cloud AI features are optional and use your own API key with a third-party provider you choose. When you use them, you contract directly with that provider and pay them directly for your usage. Feather adds nothing on top and is not a party to that relationship. Their terms govern what you send them. See the privacy policy for the details.
Updates
The app may check for updates and install signed, notarized builds from our release infrastructure. You can keep using an installed version if you choose not to update.
Disclaimer
The app is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss of data, business interruption, or indirect damages arising from use of the app. You are responsible for backing up your decks, for example with Time Machine.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute we cannot settle by email first will be handled by the state and federal courts located in New Jersey. None of this removes the mandatory consumer protections you have where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms or the app from time to time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
